A house that revolves
around water
House of Harmony is not a villa but a small estate on the heights of Goyave, on the east coast of Basse-Terre. White pavilions with red roofs around a pool, a great stone hall to gather in and, from the billiards room, the sea holding the whole horizon. You walk barefoot from one building to the next, and the house stays open from morning to night.
The arrival
An arcaded porch, 2 hanging chairs, and the name of the house spelled out in full. This is where the luggage is set down — and it stays there until the last day.

A hall of stone and light
Beneath the white trusses of the roof, travertine runs from one bay window to the next. Swivelling leather armchairs, a hammock strung between 2 posts, spheres of light hanging from the beams. The glass walls slide open on both sides: the pool is a few steps away, and the breeze passes through.
Billiards & music
The sea at the end of the room
A full-size American pool table with blue cloth, an upright piano, a dartboard, and corner windows that give the horizon: the aviary, the banana plantations, the sea. You play facing the Atlantic, you lie in the hammocks hung right in the room, and in the evening the floor lamps take over. The sound system — JBL Everest speakers, Trinnov processor — fills the whole room, and the karaoke with 3 wireless microphones fills the evening. A ping-pong table awaits the rematches.
The games lounge
Foosball and a deep sofa
A Stella table football, a 12-seat sofa in mixed fabrics, cushions by the dozen and a rug you end up occupying too. Further on, a television corner with 6 armchairs, 2 hanging chairs and 2 hammocks: room for 15 people without squeezing. The room connects to the gym: you move from one to the other without ceremony.
The simulators
2 cockpits, one very large screen
2 racing seats side by side — force-feedback wheels, pedals, gearboxes — and a chair dedicated to the flight simulator, joystick in hand. Behind, the PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, the soundbar and 2 Meta Quest 2 virtual-reality headsets; next door, a floor-to-ceiling library — comics, classics, novels — for those who would rather read while the others compete.

A full mirrored wall, a band of windows onto the greenery, and enough for a proper session: cardio on one side, weights on the other. The room opens onto a rest lounge where you stretch — or don't.

The cinema room
A true cinema room
A 4-metre-wide screen, 8 cinema armchairs and, in front of them, the carpet where the next 8 settle in: 16 viewers in all. Acoustic panels on every wall, JBL projection, Trinnov sound, a lighting cove. This is not a lounge with a projector: it is a room built for picture and sound.

A beach entry, a mosaic crocodile
The pool draws an L around its beach entry, where the water reaches your ankles and a mosaic crocodile sleeps on the bottom. Around it, the sun loungers, the white armchairs, and the pavilions' glass walls opening level with the water.
At the water's edge
The living wall and the cooking station
Along the volcanic-rock wall planted with bromeliads, a life-size horse stands guard by the cooking station: a Big Green Egg kamado, a charcoal Weber XL barbecue, an electric plancha and wok, and even a crêpe maker. Around the water, 6 sun loungers, a large daybed, 2 coffee tables and a high table. You cook outside and eat with your feet in the water of the beach entry.
The living room
Leather sofas beneath the trusses
A 12-seat lounge around a coffee table, 2 large tables of 10 covers each, 2 indoor loungers, a very high white roof frame. The floor is travertine, the bar is two steps away, and the bay windows slide open onto the pool.
The kitchens
2 kitchen-bars with 8 seats, plus the pavilion's
On the pool side, a black granite worktop, gas range, angled hood, oven and dishwasher, very large American fridge, Magimix food processor, ice machine, blender and juicer: a kitchen built for full service, with its own television and soundbar. The independent pavilion has its own. A chef can take over on the evenings when nobody feels like cooking.
The blue kitchen
Blue lacquer and pearl granite
Sky-blue lacquered fronts under pearl-blue granite worktops, a black hanging hood, an 8-seat bar and a table for 6. Oven, microwave, air fryer, dishwasher, American fridge, blender and juicer: nothing is missing. The pass-through runs along 2 sides and opens onto the adjoining gamer lounge — television, Bose soundbar —: you cook on one side, you hand over the plates on the other.

8 stools and several hundred glasses
A granite counter backed by a mirrored cabinet running the full height of the wall: flutes, wine glasses, coloured stemware. Nobody counts, but the house is visibly equipped to entertain well beyond its guests.
The pond & the garden
The koi and the water lilies
A waterfall feeds the pond, the water lilies open their pink buds in the morning, the orange carp pass beneath. Around it, a dense, well-kept garden: papyrus, ferns, cordylines, coconut palms, low walls of volcanic rock. The macaw and the koi carp are the 2 emblems of the house — they are on the sign at the entrance, and the 1,500 m² aviary that extends the garden reminds you that the macaw is not just a drawing. Beyond, 2,000 m² of green space can be visited on request.
The grounds
Inside, outside
Stone paths, lawn, coconut palms and araucarias, lighting on masts. Covered galleries link the pavilions, the property is entered through a coded gate and the grounds are under video surveillance. Pets are welcome: a 4-box kennel awaits them in the garden.
The outdoor games area
A 13 × 20 metre multisport court: 2 football goals, 2 handball goals, an adjustable basketball backboard set at NBA height, and the balls to go with them.

Bedrooms
8 bedrooms, 8 worlds, 10 double beds and 20 sleeping places — the alcoves of Sea World and Caraïbeen Lady each count their own bed. The villa does not seek uniformity: each one has a name, a colour and its own light. You choose yours on the first evening, and sometimes you change.

Classical StyleThe most intimate, and the most mineral. Stacked natural stone on the walls, warm indirect light behind the headboard, a large screen and soundbar facing the bed. A dressing corridor lined entirely with mirrored doors leads to the bathroom: walk-in shower, double stone basin on a black counter, separate WC.

Sea WorldThe family bedroom. Behind the petrol-blue curtains, a large connecting alcove, louvres open onto the greenery, holds the second bed. The decoration is marine and handmade: carved wooden turtle, shell garland, painted driftwood. Private bathroom with corner whirlpool bath and rain shower. Direct access to the covered gallery.

Caraïbeen LadyA collection of straw hats on the wall, a signed painting of a woman in a yellow hat, and 2 large mirrored wardrobes framing the bed. Its bathroom, shared with Birds and Koï, is the brightest in the house: veined-marble vanity top, large mirrors, and a window open onto the greenery. Its large alcove also holds a second bed.

Birds and KoïThe only bedroom that opens onto the pond. You draw the curtain in the morning and watch the koi pass beneath the water lilies. Inside, the birds: hummingbird and bird-of-paradise cushions, a signed canvas of a sunset over palms, small ceramic hens on the shelf.

Bubble Blue WaveThis is not a bedroom, it is an independent pavilion, standing alone on the lawn with its terrace, its white benches and its armchairs under a shade sail. Inside: a large 200 × 200 blue velvet bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, a desk and a large screen. Exotic-wood herringbone parquet, radiating roof frame, louvres on all 4 sides. You can stay here without ever entering the main house.

20 sleeping places, spread over 8 bedrooms and 10 double beds, including the independent pavilion Bubble Blue Wave. For an event, the gardens and the great hall welcome up to 200 guests.
Can you rent the villa by the night, or just a few bedrooms?
No. House of Harmony is reserved as a whole — from 3 nights — or for the time of an event. The Bubble Blue Wave pavilion is part of the estate, and the pool, the great hall, the kitchens and the gardens are yours alone.
What is the minimum stay?
3 nights. Beyond 2 weeks, the rate becomes degressive. Every request receives a personalised quote within 24 hours.
Are pets allowed?
Yes. A 4-box kennel awaits them in the garden, and 2,000 m² of green space can be visited on request.
Is the villa suitable for children?
The pool has a beach entry where the water comes up to the ankles, the multisport court and the cinema room fill the afternoons, a baby cot is available on request, and the grounds are closed by a coded gate and under video surveillance.
How do I get a rate?

Without leaving the commune
In Goyave itself
Îlet Fortune
A bank of sand and greenery set on the coral reef, 2 kilometres offshore. A protected natural site, reachable only by boat or sea kayak; the water is clear, shallow and made for swimming.
Kayak, river & mangrove
Guided outings leave from the Goyave shoreline: the mangrove of the Moustique river on one side, the islet on the other, and the Petit Cul-de-Sac Marin for a horizon.
The Saut du Bras du Fort
An easy walk through tropical forest to a natural pool where you can swim. The ideal warm-up before the bigger hikes.
The Moreau falls
3 waterfalls deep in the forest, one of them close to 100 metres. A demanding hike, and access subject to the municipal orders in force: check before setting out.
On horseback
A ranch in the commune offers rides from one hour to a half-day, with a river swim alongside the horses.
The water garden
8 hectares devoted to water: pools, ponds, a river and tropical plants, to explore on foot or by canoe.

The Carbet falls
In the neighbouring commune of Capesterre, the second fall — over 100 metres — is reached by a fully laid-out trail, about 30 minutes on foot. One of the great sites of the Lesser Antilles.
The Allée Dumanoir
The double row of royal palms lining the main road at the entrance to Capesterre, about ten minutes to the south. One of the most photographed images of the island.
Valombreuse park
A lush floral park in Petit-Bourg, some 20 minutes away. One of the best-known botanical walks in Basse-Terre.
Pointe-à-Pitre
The markets, the marina and the Mémorial ACTe, across the Petit Cul-de-Sac Marin, about 25 minutes away.

The island's great classics
La Soufrière
Guadeloupe's volcano, about 50 minutes' drive away. The climb starts at the Bains Jaunes and ends among clouds and fumaroles.
The Route de la Traversée
The road that crosses the National Park from one slope to the other: dense forest, waterfalls by the roadside, viewpoints over the butterfly's 2 wings.
The Cousteau Reserve
On the leeward coast, about an hour away: diving and snorkelling in the marine reserve of the Pigeon islets.
